Trip announcement: Orlando 2025!

I kind of revealed it in my D23 2024 post, but I wanted to dedicate a separate post to this trip announcement. So without further ado…

I’m super excited to share with you all that in March 2025 I’ll be heading to Orlando and I’ll be visiting Disney World and Universal Studios Florida!

It will be my first time in Orlando and I am so incredibly excited to spend two weeks in some of the greatest theme parks in the world!

Where I’m staying

I’ll be staying on-property at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for the entire two weeks of the trip.

I knew I wanted to stay at a moderate resort because I wanted to get the quick service dining plan, but it took some time to figure out which resort to go for.

I was torn between Port Orleans French Quarter and Caribbean Beach. They were working out the exact same price, and even though I preferred the theming at Port Orleans and the size of the resort, but Caribbean Beach ultimately won because of the Skyliner.

What I’ll be eating

As I say, I picked a moderate resort because I wanted to qualify for the free Disney dining plan. In fact, it was the return of the dining plan that was the incentive for me to book a trip to Florida in the first place!

I decided to go for the quick service dining plan where every day you get 2 quick service meals, a drink with each meal and a snack, as well as a refillable resort mug that you can use throughout your stay.

I wanted to go for the quick service dining plan as I didn’t want to mess around with making dining reservations. I feel like when you have to make restaurant reservations, it forces you to make a more rigid plan for each day because you need to be in a certain place at a certain time.

As it’s my first time visiting Disney World, I don’t know where I’m going to want to be each day! But with the quick service dining plan, you can just eat as and when you want, where ever you are.

What I’ll be doing

This trip is very much a theme park holiday, and so I plan on spending most of the parks!

I have tickets for both Disney World and Universal and plan on visiting all 6 theme parks. I’d like to visit the water parks too if we have a chance, but my partner isn’t a huge fan of water parks, so I guess we’ll see how we feel once we are there.

As much as I would love to spend all 14 days of my trip in the theme parks, I will have to factor in some rest time. I have some health and mobility issues that mean I have to make time for rest, but I’m more than happy to spend some time at the resort; the swimming pools look amazing!

I’ve written and shared my theme park bucket lists posts for all 6 parks and you can read them here:

And if you have any tips or advice for a Disney World first timer, please do share them in the comments! Although I have been researching and planning for this trip for years, I’m always open to suggestions!
