Food is an important part of a theme park day for me, and I was particularly excited to try out the food at Tokyo Disneyland.
Before my trip I’d been scouring Instagram and TikTok to find out which dishes and snacks I needed to try, and I shared a few of those in my Tokyo Disneyland bucket list post. I really wanted to prioritise trying food that wasn’t available in other Disney resorts around the work and that was inspired by Japanese cuisine.
Currently, the Japanese Yen is very weak, and in the UK we are experiencing a cost of living crisis. These two factors combined meant that the food in Tokyo Disneyland worked out incredibly good value for money for us. I kept comparing the prices to Disneyland Paris, which I last visited in September 2023, and I could not believe the difference!
Unfortunately, on the day we visited the park it rained heavily for the entire 12 hours the park was open so some of the smaller food stalls were not open. However, I don’t think we missed out on a lot and we still managed to eat lots of delicious food.
So, here’s what I actually ended up eating during my one day at Tokyo Disneyland…
Crème brûlée churros
First up was the crème brûlée churros.
We’d been in the park for a good couple of hours before we picked up our first snack of the day. We’d been too busy prioritising rides and trying to stay out of the rain as much as possible, but by the time we made it round to Westernland I was feeling peckish.
Tokyo Disneyland has some unique churro flavours to try and their crème brûlée churros were at the top of my list. I’m happy to report that they were as delicious as they sound.
Crème brûlée churros are available from Pecos Bill Cafe located in Westernland.

Mickey waffles
Because of the rain we spent quite a bit of time inside World Bazaar. This area of the park is Tokyo Disneyland’s answer to Main Street USA and it’s undercover.
When we first entered the park we noticed a huge queue outside of the Great American Waffle Co. shop and we decided to return a little later in the day when the queue had shortened. If the queue was that long, the waffles must be amazing!
And they didn’t disappoint! We had the Mickey waffle with custard whip & blueberry and maple sauce, and an apple juice on the side. The waffles were warm and fluffy and the custard whip was particularly delicious.

Hash beef rice with egg and fried shrimp
I promise, I did eat something other than sweet snacks in Tokyo Disneyland!
Later in the day we popped into Plazma Ray’s Diner in search of the famous green alien mochi (more on that in a second) and we decided to grab some “proper” food while were there.
Although we hadn’t planned on eating in the diner, we discovered that they had a plant-based dish on the menu, much to my partner’s surprise and relief!
I’m going to write a separate post on eating in Tokyo Disneyland as a vegetarian (I’m a meat eater but my partner is a vegetarian) but long story short, when I’d been researching vegetarian options at the park I hadn’t found a lot!
Anyway, while my partner opted for the plant-based bibimbap, I went for the hashed beef rice with egg and fried shrimp. I wasn’t sure what to expected but it was really tasty and very filling. I’m still trying to figure out how they managed to get Mickey to appear in an egg!

Green alien mochi
Ok, back to sweet treats!
Our final snack of the day was the famous green alien mochi.
I’m not the biggest fan of mochi but I did want to try the alien mochi as it’s perhaps the most iconic snack at the Tokyo Disney Resort.
Each pot contains three pieces of mochi, and each mochi has a different filling; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.
The strawberry one was my favourite out of the three but the fillings were all really nice. I just don’t love the texture of mochi so although I was glad that I tried them, I probably wouldn’t get them again.
But they look so cute and I took the pot they came in home with me! You can also buy a souvenir case with them in if you wish.
Green alien mochi can be purchased from various locations around the Tokyo Disneyland park.

Have you been to Tokyo Disneyland? If so, what was your favourite thing that you ate?
