Welcome to Rollers & Coasters; a blog all about my obsession with theme parks.
About me
My name is Holly and I’ve loved visiting theme parks for as long as I can remember.
Some of my first theme park experiences included my local parks, Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park, as well as some parks abroad, such as Port Aventura (which was a Universal park at the time) and Disneyland Paris.
Despite loving theme parks, I wasn’t always a fan of rollercoasters. My first experience of riding a rollercoaster with inversions almost put me off coasters for life. I rode the Klondike Gold Mine at Drayton Manor park when I was 10 and it was terrifying. My head was bashed around from side to side and I was in agony when I got off. I assumed all rollercoasters were just as horrendous and so I decided to give them a miss.
But that all changed when I was 23 and rode Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris.
Why Rollers & Coasters?
The name “Rollers & Coasters” is a nod to the city I call home, Liverpool, where you’ll frequently see women out and about with their hair rollers proudly on display.
